Boortz: "REUTERS PULLS ANOTHER FAST ONE"

REUTERS PULLS ANOTHER FAST ONE

Reuters. Let me think ... isn't that the news agency that has refused to call Islamic terrorists what they are ... Islamic terrorists! Yes, by golly, I think they're the ones! And Reuters has also been accused of staging photos at the site of the Israeli bombing of that building in Qana?

But Reuters wouldn't do anything like that, would it?

Well ... as a matter of fact, they would.

Fresh off the accusations that Reuters was staging terrorist casualty photos at Qana, they've been caught monkeying with wire photos again. You see, even though news wire photos are usually paid much attention to by newspapers and the like, there are some who have been watching Reuters.

Included in that is Charles Johnson, who runs the excellent blog, Little Green Footballs. You can also see the doctored image at this website ... along with an explanation.

Reuters pushed a photo showing a picture of the Beirut skyline after an Israeli air strike. Evidently the photographer who took it wasn't satisfied with the damage done, because he fired up Photoshop (or some program like it) and decided to expand the reach of the smoke clouds. Not only that, but in the process of using what is called the cloning tool, said photographer decided to add some buildings, too. The result is so laughable you can't even believe Reuters would make such a photo available on their wire service to news outlets.

But they did.

Except as in the case of the staged Qana photos in which a dead girl was used as a prop, they got caught. They got pinched bad this time...with their hand in the cookie jar all the way up to their elbow. For their part, Reuters has yanked the photo, issuing this statement: "Reuters has suspended a photographer until investigations are completed into changes made to a photograph showing smoke billowing from buildings following an air strike on Beirut. Reuters takes such matters extremely seriously as it is strictly against company editorial policy to alter pictures." Uh-huh.

All of this proves one thing. Even photo wire services can be a propaganda machine for the pro-terrorist appeasement forces. The difference these days is if people pay attention, they can call them on it. It will be interesting to see if the suspended photographer is let go.

It was quickly picked up here on FR

if the photographer is let go...

Or whether he simply changes his nom de guerre and continues his ways, keeping falafel and pita together via al-Reuters' currency.

MSM is circling the wagons on this one...

the Little Green Footballs dude was on Drudge last night. He gave FreeRepublic credit for the RATher, 'superscript-scam' too. Drudge didn't know that FR's Buckhead was responsible for that coup.

If he is let go, I imagine his unemployement insurance, paid by Hezbollah, will take care of him. You might think they'll be a bit over-extended in that category, but I have it on good account there won't be too many Heboz appearing at the employment insurance counter.

This guys has a good candidate for photo #3. Not so much a doctored photo as a staged photo.

All he will do is change his name...Reuters will look the other way and continue to accept his pictures...

It will be interesting to see if the suspended photographer is let go.

His services are no longer being used by Reuters. Keep an eye out for him popping up elsewhere.

What is MORE interesting are the things being discovered by looking through his PAST work. Now that we know the tricks he uses, some other questionable photos are being uncovered.

Right. AP said that they couldn't call the 9-11 hijackers terrorists because AP also lost employees in the attacks and to remain "impartial" they couldn't declare them to be terrorists.

I heard the interview. LGF should've corrected Drudge. Mike Drudge said that "both sides do this" and brought up the gag picture of Kerry with Jane Fonda onstage together. Mike did not say anything other than "that picture of John Kerry and Jane Fonda together". There WAS an actual photo of them together. And the left even cropped in an image of George W. Bush into that photo (which never got any press). The gag image (which came complete with an "article") appeared very briefly on FR but was seized upon by the Kerry gang to DISCREDIT the actual photo. And Corbis played a double standard by coming down on FR for deep linking to the genuine image (stored on licensee servers) and prohibited its use on FR. When I pointed out that Snopes (a leftist owned site) was HOSTING the images, their legal team contacted Snopes who added ownership info (but I seriously doubt they ever paid to license the images). CERTAINLY Corbis does not license the hoaxed image which can still be found on Snopes' website. But this is what we are up against.

Incredible! This is a chilling reminder that not only are we at war with terrorists, the MSM is equally our enemy.
